Platform dedicated to the public administration for online booking of railway tickets at a reduced rate
flexyCard is a management software designed and created for municipalities who want to offer their population a website dedicated to information and sale of national train tickets at discounted prices. All you need is a web browser (MS Internet explorer, Apple Safari, Firefox, Google Chrome, etc.), in fact the entire management system is performed by our high availability server clusters reachable via the internet by simply entering the assigned http address the municipality, and both the citizen and the administrative office that manages it, will always be able to access it from any computer connected to the web and obtain information for reservations and sales always in real time. The entire structure, hardware (server and logic) and software (portal and database) was designed and built entirely by digitalCode Sagl, so it is possible to create, modify standard modules or add new ones. The portal was tested for a year at the municipality of Chiasso and the municipality of Stabio and together, thanks to the indications of the municipal operators and citizens, we have improved it until it becomes operational to version 2, currently in use by municipal administrations.
Currently, citizens who do not use a personal computer to connect to the municipal flexyCard site and book a ticket, go directly to the counter responsible for this task: they will have to ask the operator for availability for a specific date but, as there are only a limited number of tickets, the chosen day is not always available. Based on this need, we have developed a section of the portal, “La Vetrina”, which displays the calendar of the current month and the next two, indicating both visually (with preset colors for each day) and numerically, the daily availability. "The showcase" is generally displayed at the counter that manages flexyCard, facing the public, in order to provide all the information necessary for purchasing the ticket, without having to consult the operator. A "low power" PC connected to the internet and a vga screen are all you need to be able to use "La Vetrina". The information is automatically updated every 5 minutes (parameter that can be customized by increasing or decreasing the data reload time). The showcase can also be viewed by citizens from home, with the possibility of varying the availability calendars displayed. The displayed data is always updated in real time.
The municipal administration, by making flexyCard available, allows citizens to connect to the portal from the comfort of their home (or wherever there is a device such as a PC, tablet PC, notebook, netbook, smart-phone) using their favorite internet browser. You will have access to the "Showcase", and to the ticket booking form. The implementation of latest generation technologies in server-side programming and ease of use, make the pre-sale operation within everyone's reach.
Citizens need only a few steps:
1) select the date
2) the number of tickets
3) enter your personal data and confirm
Reservation made, without changing page! As a support to the presale, the citizen who has just made the reservation is issued an identification number: printing it and indicating it (or simply quoting it) to the municipal operator will allow the immediate identification of the name, avoiding long spelling and speeding up the operation. The portal is fully customizable, including the time limit to be able to collect the ticket, after which it is put back on sale and the booking canceled automatically.
"Administration" is the flexyCard section that deals, as the name suggests, with administering the entire portal exclusively by municipal operators enabled by digitalCode Sagl. In addition to the preferences and parameterization module of the entire portal such as tickets, prices and captions, a section dedicated to the detailed sales report and booking lists is made available. Administration is the final interface between online booking and ticket payment. A "minimal" programming approach was used which allowed us to condense in a few modules all the functions necessary to manage online pre-sales, at the counter, cancellation / modification, sales and reports, simplifying everything to minimum terms. As for reservations, even for the administration, each operation ends with very few steps.
App flexyCard
Free flexyCard Apps are available for both Apple iOs and Google Android. Every municipality that has subscribed to the flexyCard subscription will be able to use the flexyCard App for free. All citizens will be able to download the App on their smartphone or tablet allowing them to book the "Municipal Daily Cards" directly from their mobile device. The App is translated into 7 languages: Italian, English, French, German, Spanish, Russian, Chinese.

For Municipalities that have our infoMe App the option is available to have Flexycard also within the Application, as a special dedicated section, so that citizens can book tickets directly from Phone / Tablet.
